Loading... Please wait...Carbon monoxide is deadly. It is also invisible, odourless and tasteless so it is impossible to know if you are breathing in CO (typically from a faulty exhaust or cabin heater system) until it is too late – unless you have a CO detector.
All powered aircraft cockpits should be fitted with at least one CO detector.
Conventional chemical reaction CO detectors are effective, but rely on being noticed. A better solution is an electronic CO sensor with an audible alarm and a visible display of the CO concentration.
The Senco model is self-contained, battery powered and comes with a recommendation from the CAA Safety Group.
About the size of a conventional smoke alarm, the Senco CO detector gives an LCD readout of CO concentration, and an audible alarm if concentration rises above 45ppm (dangerous levels begin at about 150ppm for the average person).
Features:
• LCD CO level display
• Triple audio alarm
• Automatic 60-second regular self-test (including sensor)
